A secular nonprofit community rooted in reason, compassion, and the spirit of northern Arizona.
Flagstaff Freethinkers brings together people who believe ethical living and community service don't require supernatural belief. Our members volunteer, fundraise, and build bridges across Flagstaff.
From food drives benefiting the Flagstaff Family Food Center to coordinated service on MLK Day, we put our values into action where it matters most — in our own backyard.

Flagstaff Freethinkers began in 2011 as a grassroots community group for atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, and others who value evidence-based thinking and ethical living without supernatural belief. What started as informal meetups has grown into a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity serving the Flagstaff area.
We are, first and foremost, a community — a group of like-minded people seeking connection through social events, discovery, discussion, volunteer opportunities, and family-friendly activities at 7,000 feet.
To foster critical thinking, build inclusive community, and encourage exploration of ideas and civic engagement among freethinkers in Flagstaff and northern Arizona — promoting open inquiry, logic, reason, and ethical living for the greater good of humanity.
A freethinker is someone who forms opinions based on reason, evidence, and experience rather than authority, tradition, or dogma. Freethinkers come from many backgrounds — atheist, agnostic, humanist, secular, or simply curious — united by a commitment to intellectual honesty and mutual respect.
Flagstaff Freethinkers is a federally recognized tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), classified as a public charity under Section 509(a)(2). Our federal tax exemption became effective on July 22, 2015.
Our volunteer board guides the organization's mission, finances, and community programs.
